PhD in Telecommunications Engineering, Professor and Head of the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Malaga. Her research has focused on mobile communications and her research interests have been in adaptive coding and modulation for fading channels, generalised multiple antenna systems, OFDM and SC FDMA, and probabilistic QoS guarantees for services implemented over mobile networks.

He has co-directed several doctoral theses, in addition to other research work. Apart from his participation in more than a dozen R&D projects funded by various public calls for proposals, his vocation for technology transfer has allowed him to collaborate in two dozen R&D contracts.
