Telecommunications Engineer from the University of Málaga and PhD in Physics from the University of Granada. He is currently a lecturer in the Department of Communications Engineering at the University of Málaga and a member of the University Institute for Telecommunications Research (TELMA) and the Photonics&RF Reserach Lab. His research interests focus on computational electromagnetics and its application to integrated photonics. In addition to publicly funded research projects, he has participated in several projects with multinational companies aimed at technology transfer in the field of communication technologies. As an expert in telecommunication technologies, he participates in the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism's Global Network of Vulnerable Targets (UNOCT).

He has been Director of the Department of Communications Engineering and is currently Director of the School of Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Malaga.
