A digital \u201cPasapalabra\u201d against illiteracy and an app for the learning of students with hearing disabilities, among the winning projects in #hack4edu (Inclusive projects adapted to vulnerable environments, awarded in <a href=\"https:\/\/profuturo.education\/noticias\/proyectos-ganadores-premiados-ii-edicion-hack4edu-2021\/\"><strong>#hack4edu | ProFuturo<\/strong>.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>#hack4edu<\/strong> is an initiative of <strong>\u00abProFuturo\u201d<\/strong> y <strong>the Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA)<\/strong> in collaboration with the <strong>Telef\u00f3nica Chairs Network.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-584  aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/catedratelefonicauma.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/hack4edu_ganadores_2_edicion.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"726\" height=\"432\" srcset=\"https:\/\/catedratelefonicauma.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/hack4edu_ganadores_2_edicion.jpg 897w, https:\/\/catedratelefonicauma.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/hack4edu_ganadores_2_edicion-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/catedratelefonicauma.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/hack4edu_ganadores_2_edicion-768x457.jpg 768w, https:\/\/catedratelefonicauma.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/hack4edu_ganadores_2_edicion-705x420.jpg 705w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 726px) 100vw, 726px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><b>Award-winning projects<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>In the <b>Senior category<\/b>, which awards two prizes of \u20ac1,000, one has been awarded to <b><i>ex aequo<\/i><\/b> (with an endowment of 500 \u20ac each) to one <b>team of the Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA)<\/b> and another from the<b> Technological University of Panama<\/b>. The first one presents a tool that detects students' emotions by means of <b><i>deep learning<\/i><\/b> to improve the development of classes and make them more dynamic and attractive; and the second proposes the construction of a web prototype capable of translating Panamanian sign language with artificial intelligence. Regarding the latter, called <b>Signspa<\/b>, The jury emphasised that it can contribute to the inclusion of people with hearing problems in the world of education.<\/p>\n<p>In the same category, a prize of \u20ac1,000 was also awarded to the project of the<b> University of Salamanca (USAL)<\/b> <b>Words4All, <\/b>developed by a team of teachers and students from the fields of health, education and computer science. Their proposal consists of an app based on the world-renowned <b>Pasapalabra <\/b>which, using disruptive technologies such as voice recognition, addresses illiteracy and promotes learning through the use of<b> gamification.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>In the <b>Innovative mode<\/b>, The first prize, worth \u20ac1,000, went to a team from the <b>University of Salamanca (USAL)<\/b> for the project <b>Hear4All<\/b>. It is an app that translates different languages and dialects into sign language in real time to improve the educational experience of deaf people. The jury highlighted its quality, its focus on a real problem and its potential for future development. In the same category, the following projects were awarded second prize (\u20ac700) and third prize (\u20ac500), respectively <b>E-Se\u00f1as<\/b>, of the I<b>nstituto Federal Catarinense of Brazil<\/b>, y <b>Listudents<\/b>, of the <b>Pontifical University of Salamanca (UPSA).<\/b> The first proposes an intelligent virtual platform to help deaf students in their learning and the second proposes a 180-degree turn to the traditional method of roll call, with an app that allows them to do it automatically thanks to NFC technology (<i>Near Field Communication<\/i>), thus saving time for students and teachers.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the promoters of the project \u201c<b>The aid decision\u201d.\u201d<\/b>, from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca (UPSA), have received two free enrolments to study for the T\u00edtulo Propio de Experto en <i>Big Data<\/i> of the same university. The aim of this award is to recognise work that has been developed with data and has managed to extract value from the information. The proposal recognised in this case is a programme based on the development of a scorecard that allows organisations and governments to establish criteria for allocating educational aid more effectively.<\/p>\n<h4><b>A second edition with a higher level and in hybrid format<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>The organisers of the hackathon, promoted by ProFuturo and the UPSA with the collaboration of the Telef\u00f3nica Chairs Network, point out the qualitative leap in this second edition. <b>\u201cThe level is becoming more and more professional.
