The 5G Chair in Digital Culture and Next Generation Technologies for Society is founded on the conviction of the crucial role that 5G technologies, next-generation networks and, in general, emerging technological developments, will play in the social, cultural, business, economic and scientific transformation that will define our future. Given this scenario, the mission of the 5G Chair in Digital Culture and Next Generation Technologies for Society is to contribute to ensuring that this transformation is oriented towards improving people's lives, achieving greater social welfare, supporting cultural progress and, in short, building more equitable, inclusive, educated and emancipated societies.
To carry out this mission, the Chair 5G, Digital Culture and Next Generation Technologies for Society is implementing a work programme based on a radically transversal and multidisciplinary approach, which is materialised in the following lines of action:
- Seminars and training activities for the entire university community on the Chair's work themes.
- Development of demonstration projects and prototypes.
- Direction and supervision of Final Projects related to the subjects of the Chair.
- Collaboration with companies in the technology sector in the implementation of projects related to the subjects of the Chair.
- Public outreach and dissemination activities.
- Collaboration with cultural institutions, social agents and the productive sector in the province of Malaga for the development of technological application projects.
We aspire for the Chair 5G, Next Generation Networks and Information Technologies to become a relevant actor in the shaping of our future, establishing fruitful synergies in the framework of a public-private collaboration that benefits society, human beings and the planet we share.
