Description
The aim of this talk is to explain to the attendees the basic concepts about FIWARE technology, where it was born, what are its objectives and what role it plays within the European guidelines on interoperability of systems and data economy. We will go into more depth about the FIWARE community and the Open Source ecosystem it has generated. We will go through its basic components, an introduction to Smart City Platforms with special emphasis on their basic architecture using open source. It will explain how the platforms can be used from a technological point of view by companies that want to offer services to cities, defining data models or how data is uploaded or consumed. It will also examine the benefits of this technology for cities and/or regions in relation to the benefits for companies. Finally, different real use cases implemented in our country will be presented.
The session will be opened by Antonio Cabello and Manuel Ortigosa, responsible for the Andalucía Smart Project of the Regional Ministry of Digital Economy and Innovation (Junta de Andalucía), and will be conducted by Juan Marcelo Gaitán, director of FIWARE at Telefónica.
