The University of Malaga celebrated the pbarbecue 6 March 2026 the regional phase of the Computer Olympiad of Malaga, a competition within the framework of the IV Teleco Olympics and sponsored by the Telefónica-UMA Chair, aimed at fostering young talent and technological vocations among pre-university students.

The event, part of the Andalusian Computer Science Olympiad, brought together high school and vocational training students with an interest in competitive programming, algorithms and computational problem solving. During the day, the participants faced various challenges related to the design and analysis of algorithms, data structures and optimisation techniques, testing their logical reasoning and programming skills.

After the evaluation of the tests carried out, the University of Malaga selected the students who qualified to participate in the national phase of the Spanish Computer Olympiad (OIE), considered the best in the world. main competition academic programming for secondary school students in Spain.

The qualified students will represent Andalusia in the national phase of the Spanish Computer Olympiad, from which will emerge the Spanish representatives in international computer science and programming competitions.
