3rd STEAM-H Student Debate Conference. The technology we will be
[The acronym STEAM-H condenses the need to establish spaces and channels for collaboration between STEM disciplines, Arts and Humanities].
The Telefónica-UMA Chair, in collaboration with the ETSI of Telecommunications and the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, is pleased to present the STEAM-H Student Debate Days. The aim of this conference is to facilitate the meeting between students from different disciplines and encourage critical discussion on the technological transformations of the world in which we live.
In our ultra-technological society, the acquisition of technical skills is indispensable, but so is the ability to employ intellectual tools that allow us to critically analyse the present and imagine the future in creative and innovative ways. Let us challenge ourselves to think beyond the obvious, beyond the surface, beyond the apparent.
Technological innovation also requires innovation in thinking. Come and join the debate, share your thoughts and be an active part of it! Your voice and your ideas can make a substantial difference.
With the firm conviction that artistic, literary and cinematographic production are key pieces in this dialogue, from this year onwards, STEAM-H debates will be articulated around significant works in these fields. Our first challenge will be Isaac Asimov's Bicentennial Man, which we will discover through the 1999 film adaptation.
Participation is free of charge but registration is required.
