Registration open for the world's largest hackathon, NASA's ‘Space Apps Challenge’ in Malaga
Once again, through Campus 42 Málaga, promoted by Fundación Telefónica (Cátedra Telefónica-UMA), Malaga City Council, the Andalusian Regional Government and the collaboration of the Malaga Provincial Council, we are taking part in the organisation of the «Space App Challenge», The hackathon, set up by NASA. It is the world's largest STEAM hackathon related to programming and technology, and will take place on 5 and 6 October.
Under the motto «The sun touches everything», the participants will have to present their solutions to real challenges posed by NASA, which range from software development to astrophysics, storytelling, For this, you will be able to work with the free and open data provided by the space agency itself.
In the previous edition, the winning team from Malaga was a group of students from the University of Granada who were able to attend thanks to the support provided by the Chair. Not only were they the winners of their venue, but they went further and obtained a Global Finalist Honourable Mention. Do you want to participate and be part of this global community?

This hackathon will take place simultaneously in seven Spanish cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Gijón, Seville, León, Urduliz and Málaga. In these cities, more than 8000 teams will gather to solve the challenges posed by NASA.
Depending on the type of challenge, it will be aimed at one type of team or another. The winning team will have the opportunity to travel to the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral (USA) to present their ideas to NASA experts.
