The E.T.S.I. Informática of the University of Málaga organises the III Olimpiada Informática de Málaga, integrated in the III Olimpiada Informática de Andalucía. This regional phase gives access to the XXVIII Spanish Informatics Olympiad (OIE). The competition has already opened the registration period, which can be done on the websites of the participating universities: those of Seville, Malaga, Granada and Cadiz.

The 3rd Malaga Computer Olympiad will take place on Friday 16 February 2024  winning first and second place in the regional competition. 3rd Andalusian Computer Olympiad (encompassing three venues Seville, Malaga and Cadiz) direct access to the final of the Spanish Computer Olympiad to be held in Seville from 15 to 17 March 2024.

  • From 16:00 to 19:00h at ETSI Informática
  • The prize-giving ceremony is at 19:15-19:30h.
REGISTRATION

The Olympiads will assess skills related to the solving programming problems through algorithm analysis and design, data structure and testing and implementation. It is open to students from public, state-subsidised and private institutions, enrolled in the current academic year. The top two finishers from the regional phase will advance to the IBE final in Madrid, where the national representatives for the International Computer Olympiad in Egypt will be selected.

Exceptionally, students in the 3rd or 4th year of E.S.O. with outstanding skills and a written recommendation from a teacher may participate.

The Telefónica Chairs Network sponsors the event, supporting the recognition and retention of young talent in Andalusian universities. Prizes vary according to the university, including cash and tuition scholarships. This edition marks the eighth participation of the University of Seville and the third of the University of Malaga, with the Universities of Cadiz and Granada making their debut at the event. The competition will allow the winners the opportunity to compete in the XXVIII Olimpiada Informática Española (OIE). The OIE is a competition aimed at high school students, who face the challenge of solving algorithmic programming problems in three hours, seeking to obtain the highest possible score.
