What evaluation tools do we have to know the effective impact of cultural initiatives on citizens? Which ones do we need and which ones do we not have? How do we measure cultural value? These are some of the questions that will be raised in this seminar, the first of a series dedicated to deepen the problems, challenges and opportunities that represent the development of cultural evaluation indicators that can be useful for the design of public cultural policies. In particular, we want to reflect on what dimensions need and deserve to be evaluated and how AI technologies and big data can be an incentive to establish these new models.

This seminar is part of the Andalex and Complexhibit projects, funded by the Junta de Andalucía and the Ministry of Science and Innovation, respectively, and coordinated by the iArtHis_Lab research group of the University of Málaga. Within the framework of these projects, a repository of data on the exhibition ecosystem in Spain over the last decades has been developed. This repository is open and available for reuse in order to generate new knowledge and value, including the creation of innovative indicators for cultural evaluation.
